Apple Upgrade Now Available in the U.S.
Apple Newsroom reported that Apple Upgrade, a new hardware leasing program, is now available through the Apple Store online, the Apple Store app, and Apple Store locations in the U.S.
9to5Mac reported that Apple has replaced the iPhone Upgrade Program with a new Apple Upgrade leasing option. Current members will need to move to another purchase path when they next become eligible for a device.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple’s new Apple Upgrade program now covers multiple products, while the older iPhone Upgrade Program and iPhone Payments are being phased out in the United States. The company says enrolled customers will still have several ways to get a new device when their upgrade window opens.
This changes how long-time iPhone Upgrade Program members will handle their next upgrade, since the familiar program is no longer available for new device pickups. It also shows Apple is steering customers toward newer financing and leasing options across more of its hardware lineup.
Start with the primary evidence, then review supporting sources and context.
