Amazon Bedrock Adds In-Region Anthropic Inference in Seoul and Singapore

Full Report

AWS says Amazon Bedrock now offers Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5 and Claude Sonnet 5 for in-region inference in Seoul, and Claude Sonnet 5 in Singapore. The update extends these model options to two AWS Regions in Asia.

According to AWS, inference for these options is processed entirely within the Region called. That makes the announcement relevant to customers with local data-processing requirements in South Korea or Singapore, while the listed model availability differs between the two locations.

The announcement also sits alongside AWS’s other regional expansion of Claude inference in Asia. In a separate India announcement, AWS listed Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5, and Claude Haiku 4.5, with processing within the India Regions. That announcement describes geographic cross-Region inference, distinct from the in-region inference described for Seoul and Singapore here.

Why This Matters

For customers with local data-processing requirements in South Korea or Singapore, AWS says inference stays entirely within the Region called. The announcement also specifies which of the two models is available in Seoul and which is available in Singapore.
