Disney has shared a first look at Messi and the Giants and confirmed a Summer 2027 global premiere on Disney+, alongside a U.S. run on Disney Channel. Lionel Messi is an executive producer. Disney says the teaser debuted on October 2, 2026, at the Hall M stage at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga in Spain, before an audience of more than 3,000 fans. The presentation also discussed the series’ original mythology, characters, and music.

The teaser features the original theme song “Vamos, Vamos, Vamos,” recorded by Argentinian artist Luck Ra. Argentinian actor Milo Burgess-Webb will voice Leo. Sony Pictures Television’s executive producers on the series are Kurt Mueller, Bryan Korn, Lacey Stanton, and Guy Toubes.

The story follows 12-year-old Leo, who becomes trapped in an alternate reality ruled by giants. To get home, he must take on high-stakes, soccer-like battles with powerful orbs, defeat legendary giants, and restore the fractured realms of Iko. Leo cannot use the world’s code powers to supercharge his game, so he relies on skill, teamwork, and determination.

The announcement adds a premiere window and U.S. broadcast plan, as well as details about the teaser’s event debut, theme song, and voice cast. Disney announced its acquisition of Messi and the Giants in December 2024, identifying Sony Music Vision and Sony Pictures Television – Kids as the series’ partners. The latest announcement gives audiences a clearer picture of when and where the series is expected to arrive.
