Full Report

Apple announced a new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 on October 27. It has a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU, and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says the GPU delivers up to 30 percent faster graphics and on-device AI workloads up to 25 percent faster than M5. For users upgrading from M1, Apple claims graphics can be up to 11 times faster and AI performance up to 13 times faster; these are Apple’s stated comparisons.

Apple says the laptop offers up to 24 hours of battery life, the longest ever in a Mac. It comes with 16GB of unified memory standard, configurable up to 32GB, and memory bandwidth up to 170GB/s. Its Liquid Retina XDR display offers up to 1600 nits of peak HDR brightness and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, with a nano-texture option. Other features include a 12MP Center Stage camera, a six-speaker sound system, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and support for up to two external displays. The laptop runs macOS 27 and comes in space black and silver.

The U.S. starting price is $1,999, or $1,899 with education savings. Preorders begin October 28, 2026, on apple.com/store and in the Apple Store app in 35 countries and regions, including the U.S. The product is scheduled to begin arriving to customers and appearing in Apple Store locations and at Apple Authorized Resellers on November 6. Apple also says the laptop contains 45 percent recycled content overall, including 100 percent recycled aluminum in its enclosure and 100 percent recycled cobalt in its battery.

The announcement brings M6 to the 14-inch MacBook Pro. Apple had announced a Mac mini featuring M6 on August 25, 2026; this announcement supplies the laptop’s specifications, pricing, and preorder schedule, giving prospective buyers concrete details to weigh against their needs and upgrade timing.

Why This Matters

The announcement confirms the M6 14-inch MacBook Pro’s specifications, $1,999 U.S. starting price, and October 28 preorder and November 6 availability dates. Those details move the product beyond earlier reports about an M6 MacBook Pro and give readers concrete information for upgrade and purchase planning.
