Apple Newsroom reports Apple Maps will power Ford’s UEV navigation experience
Apple Newsroom says Apple Maps will be built into Ford’s Universal Electric Vehicle Platform through the new MapKit for Automotive SDK. The integration is slated to bring turn-by-turn navigation, traffic data, richer place search, and EV routing features to Ford displays.
According to Apple Newsroom, Ford plans to use Apple Maps inside its Universal Electric Vehicle Platform via Apple’s MapKit for Automotive SDK. Apple also says the setup will support road-level data for future hands-free driving features.
This expands Apple Maps deeper into in-car systems and gives Ford a built-in navigation stack rather than a separate app experience. It also ties Apple’s mapping data to both EV routing and driver-assist development.
