Apple Opens iPhone Duo App Submissions, Requires Screenshots From April 2027
Developers can now submit apps and games optimized for iPhone Duo. Apple has also updated App Store asset resources and says submissions will need iPhone Duo screenshots starting in April 2027.

Apple Developer says iPhone Duo will be available to customers starting October 23, 2026, and developers can already submit optimized apps and games through App Store Connect. Apps built or recompiled with Xcode 27.1 will display an optimization badge on their App Store product pages.
Developers can recompile existing apps with Xcode 27.1 and use Device Hub to check how they behave across iPhone Duo’s poses and orientations. Apple has also made updated screenshot and app preview specifications available, alongside design guidance and downloadable templates. The listed assets include product page headers, search result assets, app previews, screenshots, and In-App Events. A new App Store Connect preview tool shows how product-page materials and other metadata will appear on iPhone Duo.
The update takes the preparation effort from testing and design resources into app submission and store presentation. Apple had previously offered Xcode 27.1 beta, design kits, and workshops; it now sets a concrete submission requirement: starting in April 2027, submitted apps and games must include screenshots for iPhone Duo.
