Full Report

Apple announced on November 3, 2026, that a new Developer Preview opens Siri AI app integration to all developers, beginning with the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3, and visionOS 27.3 betas. Developers can use App Intents to make app content and custom actions available directly through Siri AI, so users can make natural-language requests such as checking a delivery or booking a reservation. Apple says these integrations can draw on personal context understanding, onscreen awareness, and natural language.

For complex requests, a new skills feature lets developers teach Siri AI to combine several actions into one experience. Siri AI can also surface any entity in the Spotlight semantic index, not only those that fit an existing schema. Apple says it has started rolling out these capabilities across its own apps, including Calendar, Files, Finder, Mail, Maps, Messages, Notes, Photos, Reminders, Safari, Shortcuts, and Weather.

The preview gives developers an early opportunity to test before the features first ship to customers in a few months; Apple expects App Store submissions to open in the spring. At WWDC26, Apple had already presented App Intents as a way to bring app content and actions to Siri. This announcement extends the preview to developers broadly. Siri AI currently supports English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish; Apple says Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese will follow soon.

Siri AI is currently unavailable in the EU in iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS, and is not available to users under 13. Some features may also vary by region or language. Apple says certain features that rely on server-side models have daily usage limits, with expanded access to be offered for a fee in the future.

Why This Matters

The preview gives developers a route to make app content and actions available through Siri AI, including multi-step workflows, which could reduce the need to switch between apps for supported tasks. The beta platform list, language coverage, and EU restriction define where the new integrations can currently be explored.
