Full Report
Apple published a video on September 24, 2026, outlining child-safety features for iPhone, iPad and Mac. The video says parents can start with a Child Account tailored to a child’s age and choose which apps are accessible on the child’s new iPhone or iPad.
For content and access controls, Apple says Communication Safety helps detect and block nudity and violence in shared images and video. Ask to Buy and Ask to Browse let parents decide which apps children can download and which websites they can view. Time Allowances help manage daily time spent in apps, while Schedules let parents set when those apps can be used.
The controls address several separate decisions, spanning account and app access, shared content, web browsing and time limits. On September 29, Apple also announced a guide to help families build healthy digital habits, adding to its recent family-focused digital-use information.
Why This Matters
The tools let parents manage more than total screen time: they can also choose app and website access, address shared content, and set when apps are available.
