Full Report

Apple announced its M6 iMac on October 27. Pre-orders begin October 28 on apple.com/store and in the Apple Store app across 35 countries and regions, including the U.S. The computer is scheduled to begin arriving to customers and appearing in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers on November 6.

The iMac offers up to a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU, each with two more cores than before. It has a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display and supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6; 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet is available.

Apple says the M6 iMac delivers up to five times the on-device AI performance of M4. It comes with macOS 27, which integrates Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features across apps.

Apple previously announced M6 for the new Mac mini on August 25. The iMac announcement brings the chip to the all-in-one desktop line, with Apple now providing purchase timing and core, display, and connectivity details for buyers to compare.

Why This Matters

This is a substantive iMac product update with announced order and availability dates, processor configuration, display, and connectivity details. Because Apple had already announced M6 in the new Mac mini, the iMac news also gives readers a concrete basis for comparing the chip’s deployment across Mac product lines.
