Capcom Producer Says the Company Would Love to Revisit Mega Man X
Capcom producer Shingo Izumi said Mega Man X remains important to the brand and that the company would like to revisit it if an opportunity arises, but no new project has been announced.
DNA Brief
Signal Summary
Speaking with Game Informer, Izumi said the developers behind the Mega Man series are open to returning to Mega Man X. Capcom's current main focus is Mega Man Override, which is planned for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in 2027, while the company is also building toward Mega Man's 40th anniversary with collaborations and crossovers next year.
Why It Matters
The comments indicate interest rather than approval or an announcement of a new Mega Man X game. For now, the concrete franchise plans are Mega Man Override and next year's 40th-anniversary collaborations, leaving the timing and form of any Mega Man X return unspecified.
