Claude’s September recap highlights cloud work, Claude Docs and format shortcuts

Claude’s September updates bring Chat and Cowork together and add document, deck and design workflows to conversations. Work can continue in the cloud, while teams can edit the same document with Claude through Claude Docs.

Full Report

In an official recap of its September updates, Claude says Chat and Cowork are now one Claude, with documents, decks and designs available in any conversation. The changes bring several kinds of work into a shared conversational workflow.

The recap says work runs in the cloud and continues after a user closes their laptop. Claude Docs lets a team edit the same document as Claude. Users who already know their desired format can type /slides, /docs or /designs to go straight to it.

Anthropic describes Opus 5.5 as suited to heavier work and Sonnet 5.5 for quick rounds of edits. The recap follows a related October 1 announcement about Sonnet 5.5, which said the model was available everywhere and more than 30% faster than Sonnet 5.

Why This Matters

The recap points to a workflow change as well as model updates: documents, decks and designs can be started from a conversation, while cloud execution and shared editing extend work beyond a single chat session or user.
