Disney Parks Blog updated its Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.) mystery on October 9. Imagineers introduced the puzzle at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August, bringing an unopened crate from the S.E.A. Archive; inside were bricks and a note. The Society is asking participants to identify a thief through scrambled-name riddles that will reveal a brand-new S.E.A. character. Disney says the riddles can be solved online from home by looking up Disneyland images.
The update lists T, L, A, R, O, E, E and Z as the known letters. Disney says one riddle appears to point to the Swiss canton shields at the entrance to the Matterhorn Bobsleds queue at Disneyland park. Another’s final lines appear to refer to the S.E.A. expedition oars displayed at The Tropical Hideaway in Adventureland, and asks whose expedition took place in 1831. Bonnie Booker has shared riddles and information through the Walt Disney Imagineering Instagram page. The thief’s identity has not been revealed; Disney Parks Blog says another update will come before the mystery concludes and directs readers to follow @WaltDisneyImagineering.
Why This Matters
The at-home format lets readers take part without visiting Disneyland, while the clues connect the puzzle to specific details in the park. The newly listed letters and references give participants concrete leads to investigate in this update.
