Elden Ring Tarnished Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28

ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition is an all-in version of the action RPG ELDEN RING. The edition includes the main game, the SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE DLC, and additional elements. Nintendo has made the “ELDEN RING: For Those Starting Now” video available for people playing the game for the first time.

Players travel through the expansive world of the Lands Between as a Tarnished. After leaving the Cave of Knowledge, players reach Limgrave, where they are free to choose where to go next. Players do not need to defeat every enemy and can choose the order in which they fight them.

The tutorial map Cave of Knowledge teaches basic controls and advanced combat techniques. The game offers melee, ranged, stealth, and mounted combat options, while players can freely combine weapons, armor, and magic to create their own character.

Weapons have special techniques called Ashes of War, ranging from powerful attacks to temporary special effects. More than 50 types of spirits can support players in battle. The game includes NPCs who guide and assist the Tarnished, with some able to fight alongside them. The spectral steed Torrent can be summoned to travel faster than running over long distances.
