MacRumors reports that Mark Gurman expects Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone Ultra to support MagSafe, despite conflicting dummy-model and case evidence. The device could be announced around the iPhone 18 Pro launch, but its exact timing remains unsettled.
Gurman made the MagSafe claim in an interview with Tom's Guide. Dummy models that surfaced in April lacked a MagSafe ring, while leaked cases for the foldable device included one; the report also describes the phone as supposedly 4.5 mm thick when open. Apple may announce it with the iPhone 18 Pro models or within weeks afterward.
If confirmed, MagSafe would give the rumored foldable iPhone Ultra compatibility with Apple’s magnetic charging and accessory ecosystem. The conflicting physical evidence means that compatibility remains unconfirmed, while the unsettled launch timing leaves its relationship to the iPhone 18 Pro release unclear.
