iPhone Duo supports Apple Pencil with USB-C on both displays
AppleInsider reports that iPhone Duo supports Apple Pencil with USB-C on both displays, using a cable for pairing and charging while providing basic iOS functions.
DNA Brief
Signal Summary
The report says Apple Pencil with USB-C works with iPhone Duo because it can pair and charge over a cable. Apple Pencil Pro support was not achieved; a late-August rumor attributed the difficulty to the charging mount potentially interfering with the foldable’s opening and closing.
Why It Matters
The report defines a clear split in stylus support for iPhone Duo: Apple Pencil with USB-C can work across both displays, but Apple Pencil Pro is not supported and setup depends on a cable. That gives users a more specific expectation for writing and iOS interaction on the foldable.

“Apple couldn't quite get Apple Pencil Pro to work with iPhone Duo, but Apple Pencil with USB-C pairs fine over a cable and brings its basic functions to iOS for the first time. Apple Pencil with USB-C works with iPhone Duo A rumor in late August suggested Apple tried and failed to include support for Apple Pencil on its upcoming foldable.…”
