OCTOPATH TRAVELER Games Get Switch 2 Release Trailer; Japan Bundle Went on Sale October 1
Square Enix Asia published a release-promotion video for OCTOPATH TRAVELER and OCTOPATH TRAVELER II on Nintendo Switch 2. The series has surpassed 7 million worldwide shipments and downloads; a packaged bundle of both games went on sale in Japan on October 1, 2026, for ¥6,820.
Full Report
Square Enix Asia has published a release-promotion video for Nintendo Switch 2 versions of OCTOPATH TRAVELER and OCTOPATH TRAVELER II. The company’s description says the series has surpassed 7 million copies in worldwide shipments and downloads. The first game launched in 2018.
The series uses HD-2D visuals that combine pixel art with 3D computer graphics, and follows the stories of eight travelers. The new video promotes both games on Nintendo Switch 2, giving players a point of reference for the two titles on the platform.
In Japan, Square Enix’s packaged Nintendo Switch 2 bundle containing both games went on sale on October 1, 2026, for ¥6,820. The package uses a game-key-card format. Those details provide a concrete purchase reference for the Japanese bundle, but do not establish availability or terms in other regions.
Why This Matters
The series’ 7 million milestone gives the Switch 2 versions relevance to both returning players and newcomers. For Japanese buyers considering both games together, the bundle’s release date, price, and key-card format are practical details; the Japanese listing should not be read as confirmation of arrangements elsewhere.
