The update raises Mac Studio’s maximum unified memory to 512GB and enables Thunderbolt 5 clustering, which Apple says can deliver up to 3x the distributed AI inference performance of one system. Pre-orders began August 25, but 512GB configurations are scheduled for late October, separating the highest-memory option from the main September 22 availability date.
