Pokémon GO Updates Route Cell Rewards, Map Icons and High-Stat Transfer Warnings
Pokémon GO has introduced several gameplay and quality-of-life changes: Zygarde Cells found on Routes are now awarded upon completion, the Compass and Weather map icons are combined, and transferring a Pokémon with maxed-out stats now triggers a confirmation prompt.
Full Report
Pokémon GO has outlined a set of gameplay and quality-of-life updates. Zygarde Cells discovered on a Route are now granted as a reward when the Route is completed, rather than needing to be picked up from the map. The chance of finding them remains unchanged, and a Route may still yield no Zygarde Cells.
The Compass and Weather map icons have been combined into a dynamic icon: Compass appears while players rotate or zoom the view, and Weather appears at other times. Tapping Weather shows active conditions and boosts; tapping Compass toggles the viewing direction when it is visible on the map. A confirmation prompt now appears before transferring a Pokémon with maxed-out stats, and bulk-transfer warnings show the exact number of selected ★ 100% Pokémon. Map View spacing has also been adjusted to reduce overlap among wild Pokémon encounters, Gyms, Power Spots and PokéStops.
Why This Matters
Awarding Zygarde Cells when a Route is completed removes the need to collect them separately from the map. The transfer confirmation and exact count make it easier to review bulk selections of high-stat Pokémon, while the icon and spacing changes affect everyday map navigation.
