Full Report

SEGA released SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance for Nintendo Switch 2 in Japan on September 24, 2026. The Japanese standard edition is priced at ¥3,300 including tax, while the Digital Deluxe edition costs ¥4,400 including tax and is available through the Nintendo eShop.

The Digital Deluxe edition bundles the game with a Starter Pack, the SEGA Villains Stage, and a digital art book and soundtrack. The Starter Pack includes a Ghost Style outfit for Joe Musashi, an additional amulet, and in-game currency. SEGA says the Villains Stage is also available as a standalone DLC purchase.

Players moving from the original Nintendo Switch version can transfer their save data to the Switch 2 edition; transfer in the opposite direction is not supported. The release therefore offers existing players a way to carry their progress forward while adding another platform option. The game originally launched on August 29, 2025, including on Nintendo Switch. SEGA describes it as a hand-drawn ninja action game from Lizardcube, the studio behind Streets of Rage 4.

Why This Matters

Save-data transfer gives players who already own the original Switch version a route to continue their progress on Switch 2. The Japanese release also offers a standard edition and a Digital Deluxe bundle with additional game content and digital extras.
