Tetris 99’s 57th MAXIMUS CUP Adds a Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Theme
The event runs from October 2 to October 5, Pacific Time. Players can unlock a new theme featuring art, music, and Tetrimino designs inspired by Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave by earning 100 event points in Tetris 99 online mode.
Full Report
Nintendo has scheduled the 57th MAXIMUS CUP for Tetris 99 from 12 a.m. PT on October 2 through 11:59 p.m. PT on October 5. Participation requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership and playing Tetris 99’s online mode during the event; a Nintendo Account is also required for online features.
Players earn event points according to their placement in each match. Reaching 100 points unlocks a new theme with art, music, and Tetrimino designs inspired by Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave.
Nintendo’s earlier game trailer described Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. This cup brings elements of that game into Tetris 99, with a stated point threshold for unlocking the themed reward.
Why This Matters
The announcement gives players the participation requirements, how event points are earned, and the exact threshold for unlocking the reward. It also brings the visual and musical identity of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave into Tetris 99.
