Full Report
Disney said on November 6 that The Remarried Empress set a global local-original premiere record on Disney+ and Hulu, measured over the three days after its November 3 debut. The company also said the series ranked as the No. 1 Korean title premiere in more than 50 global markets.
The series had originally been scheduled for November 4 but premiered a day early; four episodes were available when Disney published the record announcement. Disney had described the early launch as a thank-you to fans.
The series is based on the NAVER WEBTOON of the same name. Disney says the original webtoon has drawn nearly 3 billion views since its first release, and preview screenings at the Busan International Film Festival sold out.
Why This Matters
The announcement adds a performance milestone to the previously reported early launch: Disney says the series now holds its global local-original premiere record and ranked first among Korean title premieres in more than 50 markets.
