watchOS 27 will remove or change three Apple Watch features and controls

The source says watchOS 27 will remove Walkie-Talkie and change the Digital Crown double-click multitasking shortcut and the traditional single-click app launcher. The update is expected later this month, but no exact date is given.

Signal Summary

After the update, double-clicking the Digital Crown will do the same thing as a single click, ending its previous shortcut for switching quickly between two apps or between an app and the watch face. A single click will instead open a dynamic app grid with five suggested apps, Siri, and an icon for the full app grid. Walkie-Talkie will also be removed from Apple Watch.

Why It Matters

The changes will alter how Apple Watch users launch apps, switch between tasks, and use real-time voice communication. Users who rely on the Digital Crown double-click shortcut or Walkie-Talkie will need to adjust their workflows after updating.
