Full Report
The packaged version of ゼノブレイド2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition went on sale October 1, 2026, and Nintendo says the digital version and upgrade pass are available as well. Players who own the Nintendo Switch version can access the new edition by purchasing the upgrade pass. Nintendo lists the game as suitable for ages 15 and up.
The edition supports up to 4K resolution in TV mode and 1080p in handheld mode, and Nintendo says its frame rate is improved over the Nintendo Switch version. New content includes M.O.M.O., a Blade that can heal, uses the light attribute, and can switch to the dark attribute. A new Mercenary Action mode lets players directly control Blades in action battles and earn items by clearing stages.
There is an important content caveat for buyers: the edition does not include the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass content, including Torna – The Golden Country, which must be purchased separately. Owners of the packaged Torna release can use a free update.
Why This Matters
The physical launch adds a packaged purchase option, while the upgrade pass gives existing Nintendo Switch owners a route to the new edition. Because the Expansion Pass content is excluded, players should check whether they need to buy that content separately.
