Apple accidentally exposed product identifiers for rumored camera-equipped AirPods in macOS Tahoe 26.7 release-candidate code. The code also included a demo of Visual Intelligence on AirPods Pro.
The identifiers have fueled reports that Apple is developing AirPods with cameras, but the source does not confirm that the product will ship. Rumors also suggest the cameras may not take photos, while the demo shows a user accessing Visual Intelligence while wearing AirPods Pro.
If released, camera-equipped AirPods could extend the product beyond audio into environmental awareness and AI interaction. For now, the code and demo do not establish a release date or confirm what the cameras would do.
Start with the primary evidence, then review supporting sources and context.

“Apple accidentally leaked identifying numbers for much of its upcoming product line, AirPods with cameras rumors spark a new privacy debate, and Siri AI gets partnered articles on the AppleInsider Podcast. While Epic Games (center) continues to dance with Apple, AirPods are getting cameras, and the App Store is not getting fixed.…”
