Apple expands language support for redesigned Health app
Apple says its redesigned Health app will support 11 languages, including global English and Simplified and Traditional Chinese. The app is in the iOS 27.3 developer beta and is planned as a free software update later in 2026.

Full Report
Apple announced on November 3, 2026, that its redesigned Health app is expanding language support to global English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, and Vietnamese. The app is available in the iOS 27.3 developer beta, with a free software update planned for later in 2026. It is intended for Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone and iPad models running the latest software, though select features are available only on iPhone.
The expansion follows Apple’s September 9 announcement that the redesigned app would initially launch in U.S. English, with more languages to follow. Its Insights tab summarizes heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals, and cycle-tracking data, while The For You section offers recommendations based on daily habits. The Longevity tab analyzes long-term health metrics, and Health Age uses Apple Watch data to compare selected metrics with a user’s chronological age.
The redesign also includes at-home movement evaluations. Using an iPhone camera and Apple Watch, they assess flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics, and VO₂ max, with real-time audio and visual feedback. Apple says the experience runs entirely on device and does not record, store, or share video. Health Age requires Apple Watch; the VO₂ max estimate test requires Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3, or a third-party heart-rate-sensing device.
Why This Matters
The expansion moves the redesigned Health app beyond its initially announced U.S.-English launch, adding 10 more language options, including Traditional Chinese. Device requirements remain relevant: some features are iPhone-only, Health Age requires Apple Watch, and the VO₂ max test has its own compatible-device requirements.
